Velke Tresne is an inactive graphite mine located about 40km North of Brno, the second largest city in the Czech Republic.

Intermittently mined underground graphite between 1880s to 1960s, producing graphite concentrate by on-site flotation for industrial use.

Relatively large high-grade graphite deposit formed by a lens of graphite-rich schist, some marble and zones of massive graphite.

The lens outcrops, is discrete and about 1.4 km long, 100 m thick, dipping about 25-40 degrees towards West.

The graphite orebody is well documented by UG sampling and drilling (16 drillholes).
